Wasted time

When the pandemic first hit, I thought I would get a lot accomplished at home. I would read the stack of books and magazines in my office, get the house organized – especially the garage – and try new crafts or projects. After all, we wouldn't be going to events, parties, or museums.

Well, I didn't accomplish as much as I thought I would. I admit I wasted time watching television, worrying about the pandemic, and watching dog videos.

Speaking of dogs and of wasting time, our dog, Libbie, created this painting when my daughter poured paint on a canvas, covered it in plastic, and then put peanut butter on the plastic. Libbie licked the peanut butter on the plastic to create the painting.

This post is the very first showing of her work.

Okay, so it might have been a waste of time, but it was fun. It's been almost a year since the national emergency was declared, and, even if I couldn't or didn't do much this past year, I do want to say I've had some fun.

And having fun during a pandemic – I consider that an accomplishment.
