Reminder about Memorial Day holiday closings

May 19, 2022

The official kickoff to summer is just around the corner.

Many of us will be observing Memorial Day on Monday, May 30, and the federal government will be part of that observation by closing its offices.

The Department of Education is among the federal offices closed for the holiday. In addition, the Department's Title IV processors and contact centers will be closed on Memorial Day. The Department reminds colleges and universities of the following holiday closings:

  • All Federal Student Aid contact centers will be closed on Monday, May 30.
  • The Central Processing System (CPS) will accept data on Monday, May 30, but will not process data or send Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) until Tuesday, May 31.
  • The Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System will accept and process data from schools and send back responses/acknowledgments on Monday, May 30, but schools will not be able to receive any federal funds on that day. Requests for changes in funding levels and for funds will not be processed until Tuesday, May 31.

All Federal Student Aid websites will remain operational on the holiday.

Mapping Your Future's offices will also be closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday, but services such as Online Counseling and MappingXpress will remain online.
