July 23, 2020

Having just come off a year that defied what was known as normal operating procedures in financial aid, the Department of Education earlier this week released Volume 1 the 2020-2021 Student Aid Handbook.

In a July 20 Electronic Announcement, the Department announced the release of Volume 1, which covers student eligibility.

In the introduction to Volume 1, which covers student eligibility, the Department addresses the COVID-19 pandemic and acknowledges the many unique challenges for postsecondary institutions. The booklet refers financial aid professionals to online resources for COVID-19 related guidance but specifically notes the flexibility regarding satisfactory academic progress (SAP).
