Spartanburg Methodist College in Spartanburg, SC
Welcome to Entrance Counseling for the Federal Family Educational Loan (FFEL) programs at Spartanburg Methodist College. As a recipient of a Federal Stafford Loan, you must complete the following Entrance Counseling Examination to ensure you understand your student loan rights and responsibilities and your obligations regarding repayment of these funds. Please make sure to read the information carefully as you will have to answer some basic knowledge questions as you proceed through the information pages. After your completion of the exam, the results will be forwarded to the Spartanburg Methodist College Financial Aid Office as verification that you have completed this obligation. As a loan borrower, please make sure you understand that:
*Loan funds will not be disbursed to your student account until the Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note requirements have been satisfied. Loan funds are not disbursed until after the Drop/Add date of each semester.
*Students must be enrolled at least half-time (six or more semester hours) during regular terms and summer terms to receive federal loan funds.
*In the event that you withdraw from school, you must inform the Registrar's Office and the Financial Aid Office so that proper Exit Counseling procedures can begin.
If you have additional questions regarding your rights and responsibilities and loan terms and conditions, after completing this information, please contact Kendra Burnette in the SMC Financial Aid Office @ www.smcsc.edu or by phone at (864) 587-4000. You may also contact us by mail at the following address: Office of Financial Aid - Spartanburg Methodist College - 1000 Powell Mill Road- Spartanburg, SC 29301.
