Welcome to the Stafford Exit counseling session
Federal regulations require all Federal Stafford Loan borrowers to complete an exit counseling session upon graduating, withdrawing, or dropping below at least half-time attendance. The exit counseling session must be completed regardless if you plan to transfer to another school or reenroll at our school in the future. The purpose of exit counseling is to ensure that you understand your rights, responsibilities, and obligations as a Federal Stafford loan borrower. It is important that YOU (the student borrowing the loan) complete this session, not a parent or spouse. Coastal Carolina University will be notified electronically when you successfully complete the Exit Counseling session.
As a borrower at Coastal Carolina University, you must complete Exit Loan Counseling to ensure your understanding of your loan repayment obligations. In 2009 the total average indebtedness for a Coastal Carolina University student who has borrowed Stafford loans is $19,439. At 6.8% interest, your monthly payment would be approximately $223 if you borrowed this amount.
If you borrowed both Stafford and Grad PLUS loans please note the combined average sample repayment amount for both Stafford and Grad PLUS indebtedness. The interest rate for a subsidized loan is 6.0%; unsubsidized loan is 6.8%; and PLUS loan is 8.5%.
Please note that the information you provide as part of the certification is used for identification and will not be used for any other purpose.
