You have reached the Stafford Exit Counseling site for the University of Texas at Tyler. Exit Counseling is necessary to make sure you understand your rights and responsibilities as a Stafford Loan borrower and also to give you information on some of your potential repayment options.
Exit Counseling is required for any student who has borrowed Federal loan funds who is dropping below half-time (6 hours during the Fall or Spring semesters) and any student who graduates or completely withdraws during any semester, including Summer. It is important that you contact both the Registrar’s Office and Financial Aid Office if you withdraw from classes even if you withdraw by fax rather than in person.
As of 2006 the Average Indebtedness for borrowers of Federal Stafford Loans leaving the University of Texas at Tyler was $13,750. You will have an opportunity to view potential monthly payments for this debt level when you reach the Debt/Salary Wizard portion of the counseling session.
