Required reading before completing loan counseling. The Higher Education Opportunity Act signed into law on August 14, 2008 provides additional entrance counseling requirements:

• Accepting a loan may affect your eligibility for other forms of financial aid.

• Interest accrues on Federal Unsubsidized Stafford loans and is capitalized if not paid while in school.

• Half time enrollment at OCC is 6 credits, if you drop below half time, your loan will enter repayment after your grace period and you will not be eligibile for student loans.

• Students, who withdraw before completing their program of study, must notify their Student Financial Resources & Scholarships office, to get information on completing exit counseling. Contact one of the following campuses:

    • You must enable JavaScript in your browser.
