Don't complete the FAFSA and drive.

Just a friendly reminder after the Department of Education released a mobile friendly version of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and announced plans for a new app to be released later this summer.

The July 24 Electronic Announcement provided information about the redesigned portions of the fafsa.gov website and the upcoming app option to complete the FAFSA.

The redesigned fafsa.gov site was released on July 22, with a more modern and user-friendly feel for students and parents completing an initial or renewal FAFSA. The redesigned site is mobile-friendly, resizing to fit the screen of phones and tablets. The Help and Hints boxes have been replaced by Tool tips that go through each FAFSA question. The FAFSA questions are grouped in a different order, to help students and parents complete the FAFSA with fewer page views.

Other functions on the fafsa.gov website will be redesigned in future phases.

Users still have the new mobile app to look forward to, with a release anticipated later this summer. More information about the app will become available with its release.
