How one little habit can mean huge success in college

It only takes a few minutes a couple of times a day, but it can mean the difference between success and failure.

One of the most important habits to develop as a college student is to check your school email account.

Perhaps when you were a high school student, email was not very important. However, when you are a college student, your email is critical.

College administrators and professors use your school email for all kinds of notifications. For example, a professor or administrator may send internship opportunities that align with your program of study - often only via email. Not checking can mean missed deadlines, missed invitations, and other missed opportunities that could make or break your success in college.

You may have a personal email account and maybe you do check that account every day. However, administrators and professors will only use your college email account for all official correspondence, and that correspondence could be critical to your college and career success.
