The Department of Education is looking for a few good financial aid administrators.

In an Oct. 15 Electronic Announcement, the Office of Postsecondary Education requested nominations for a Negotiated Rulemaking Committee on Accreditation and Innovation.

Among the experts being sought for the committee are financial aid administrators at postsecondary institutions. The negotiated rulemaking committee will prepare proposed regulations to address accreditation and innovation.

The Federal Register notice requests nominations for individual negotiators who represent key stakeholder constituencies for the issues to be negotiated to serve on the committee and announced a schedule for committee meetings in the first quarter of 2019. In addition, the notice requested nominations for individuals with pertinent expertise to participate on one of three topic-based subcommittees: Distance Learning and Educational Innovation; Faith-Based Entities; and TEACH Grants.

Locations for the committee and subcommittee meetings will be announced in a subsequent Federal Register Notice.

The deadline for submitting nominations is Thursday, November 15, 2018. If you have questions or to submit a nomination, contact Aaron Washington, U.S. Department of Education, 400 Maryland Ave. SW, Room 294-12, Washington, DC 20202. Telephone (202) 453-7241. Email: negregnominations@ed.gov.
