It happens every year. I forget about filing taxes until the April 15 deadline is near. As a financial aid professional, filing taxes is something you deal with all year long. And because you may get questions from your borrowers about their student loan interest payments, the Department of Education issued a Jan. 29 Electronic Announcement about the reporting of student loan interest payments. While most of the information in the announcement is the same as past procedures, it is a good reminder about the 1098-E in case you receive any questions from students or parents. And who couldn't use a gentle reminder now and then? | ||||||||||||||||
