Changes to the Federal Student Aid Handbook

It may not be the type of book you keep on your nightstand - but the Department of Education has made some changes to the Federal Student Aid Handbook to make it a little more attractive and a little easier to use.

In an August 30 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education announced the availability of Volume 3 - Calculating Awards and Packaging of the 2019-2020 Federal Student Aid Handbook.

Readers familiar with the handbook may notice some changes compared to older editions. For example, some sidebars have been relocated, and others have been eliminated because information has been integrated into the main text. These changes reflect some of the Department?s initial efforts to improve the format, content and appearance of the handbook. Additional changes will be forthcoming in future editions.

The Federal Student Aid Handbook consists of the Application and Verification Guide, six numbered volumes, and appendices, including Volume 3 - Calculating Awards and Packaging.

Questions and suggestions concerning the Federal Student Aid Handbook can be sent to fsaschoolspubs@ed.gov.

Reminder:

The Mapping Your Future FAFSA webinars are starting next week, but it's not too late to register. Feel free to share the webinar information with your colleagues, students, and parents:
