Daylight Savings Time

If you need some good news today, here is a reminder that you will get an extra hour of sleep this weekend - thanks to end of Daylight Savings Time.

Most states go back to Standard Time this weekend, gaining an extra hour on early Sunday. The time change is not all good news though.

There is a mixed reaction to the time change - some people dislike it so much that several states are proposing an end to the practice. According to the USA Today article, there is both research and anecdotal evidence that changing time has a negative impact on our health and other aspects of our lives.

For some of us, our reaction to the time change is simply a dislike of the loss of that hour in the spring and appreciation of that extra hour in the fall. Those feelings we have each spring and fall would disappear if some of the proposals, which call for keeping Daylight Savings Time, take effect.

In the meantime, most of us get to enjoy that extra hour, which is good news for this weekend.
