A little understanding

They just don't get it.

Beyond understanding what you do every day, a lot of your family and friends don't understand why you work in financial aid.

Maybe it is the high pay and daily recognition.

Okay, maybe not.

But why work the long hours in a job that is sometimes tedious and thankless?

You probably didn't go to work in financial aid because you expected every day to be engaging and rewarding. Sure, maybe it started out as just a job – but you stayed because it is more than just a job to you.

It's about being a part of something bigger, knowing the work you do helps others better understand the world and, in turn, prepares them for a role of serving others.

And, if you family and friends know you, well then, maybe they do get it.

Happy Labor Day weekend!
