When it comes to planning for the future, we could all use a little guidance.

That's why Mapping Your Future has been around now for almost 26 years – to help students, families, and schools. Through our mission of helping students succeed, we've helped millions of students and families and thousands of schools through the years.

Mapping Your Future debuted on the World Wide Web in 1996, just in time for back-to-school when many students and families are thinking about and preparing for college.

Mapping Your Future started when a group of five state and nonprofit education agencies decided to collaborate to provide information and services via the web. At that time, the leaders of the agencies didn't know what types of services we would be able to provide but knew that we could deliver these services better by working together and staying true to our mission to serve schools, students, and families. They also recognized the great potential in providing valuable services via the Internet.

Since that time, Mapping Your Future has developed into a national financial aid industry collaborative project. We've also partnered with other financial aid industry organizations and include many financial aid professionals in the development of future enhancements to the site.

A lot has changed in higher education and financial aid through the years (and will probably continue to change in the coming years), but Mapping Your Future's commitment to helping students succeed remains constant.

Thank you to all the organizations and people that have worked with us and volunteered to help us through the years. We are looking forward to working with you in the next 26 years.
