U.S. Department of Education delays 2024-25 FAFSA

The U.S. Department of Education will release the 2024-25 FAFSA in December 2023.
Usually, the FAFSA is available starting October 1. However, for students planning to attend postsecondary education in the 2024-25 academic year, the FAFSA will be delayed and is expected to be available in December 2023.
This one-time delay is needed to allow time for federal financial aid updates mandated under FAFSA Simplification legislation.
Students planning to complete the 2024-25 FAFSA can go ahead and create their FSA ID by creating an account at StudentAid.gov.
