There's a few more things to squeeze onto your to-do list when it comes to FAFSA Simplification.

In a September 22 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education announced the date for the release of the updated SAIG agreement and also reminded Federal Student Aid (FSA) partners of the three steps required to receive to receive Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) for the 2024-25 award year and beyond. The changes are due to the receipt of Federal Tax Information (FTI), which is part of the new process under FAFSA Simplification.

The Department said partners must sign an updated Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) enrollment agreement, which will be available on October 23, to receive Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) for the 2024-25 award year and beyond. In addition to signing the new enrollment agreement, partners must enroll for a new FTI-SAIG mailbox and install upgraded SAIG software to continue receiving ISIR data.

According to the Department, the updated SAIG enrollment agreement requires compliance with the protection of FTI provided to FSA partners, including return information obtained in support of the administration of the federal student aid programs. The updated agreement includes an acknowledgement of the criminal and civil penalties for the unauthorized inspection or disclosure of FTI.

Detailed information about who is required to sign the agreement and the process to complete enrollment for the FTI-SAIG mailbox and 2024-25 ISIR service is provided in the Electronic Announcement. Partners with questions about completing the updated SAIG enrollment agreement should contact CPS/SAIG Technical Support at 1-800-330-5947 or by email at CPSSAIG@ed.gov.
