Some good news for those of us who work in the higher education industry. Research released late last week from the Pew Research Center indicates that students in Generation Z are enrolling in college at a higher rate than the previous generation of Millennials. This is significant since Millennials are among the best educated of all generations prior to Generation Z. Researchers, who focused most of the results on Millennials, indicated it is still early to know a lot about Generation Z. The future Generation Z (those ages 6 to 21 in 2018) may be shaped by yet unknown events, according to researchers. At a time when some are questioning the value of higher education, it is heartening to see that this generation recognizes the value of an education to their career. Not only is this good news for higher education, it is good news for Generation Z and for society. | ||||||||||||||||
