Default rates |
||||||||||||||||
We may not see any posts from our friends on social media, but today is "Official Cohort Default Rates" day. The Department released the Fiscal Year 2016 Cohort Default Rate information to the public today, but schools have had their rate information for a couple of days. The rates, in and of themselves, probably do not interest most people. Although, it is good news that rates have declined, since the rates could affect what students and parents think about a school. For example, whether or not those who graduate from school are successful and not burdened with student loan debt. It can be a critical factor in the school's ability to recruit new students. For that reason, schools with a decrease in their default rate have reason to celebrate today. Maybe there should be some celebratory posts on social media. | ||||||||||||||||
