New materials for your financial aid nights

It's time to update your financial aid event presentations.

On October 17, the Department of Education released an Electronic Announcement with presentations containing information and screenshots pertaining to the 2020-21 fafsa.gov website and the myFAFSA feature of the myStudentAid app.

The purpose of the 2020-21 presentations is to provide financial aid administrators (FAAs), mentors, and counselors with screenshots that can be used as a reference tool for the site and the myStudentAid app. The presentation can be used for internal staff training or for high school financial aid night presentations.

Note the following items:

  • The screenshots in the presentations are intended to show a majority of the questions on fafsa.gov; however, most students and/or parents will likely not need to answer all of these questions when completing their application.
  • All data used to create this presentation is test data and is intended to show examples of what the site looks like.

Another helpful reference tool for financial aid staff is the 2020-2021 Summary of Changes for the Application Processing System Guide that was released on October 8.
