New training opportunities for financial aid professionals

In a preview of coming attractions, the Department of Education has announced a new Wednesday Webinar series for early in 2023.
In a December 13 Dear Colleague Letter (DCL), the Department announced five webinars to be offered by Federal Student Aid. The webinars are part of the Department’s Wednesday Webinar Series, a series of live, two-hour webinars which cover a variety of topics related to the Title IV programs.
The five webinars are:
- Administering Disbursements on January 11
- Pell Grant Recalculations for Modules on February 8
- Verification 2022-23 and 2023-24 on March 15
- Federal Update on April 5
- SAP Essentials on May 24
According to the Department, these webinars provide the most recent guidance, including statutory and regulatory updates. Operational information and reminders are also shared.
Interested attendees do not need to register for these webinars. Participation will be available on a first come, first-served basis and up to 10,000 attendees can be accommodated in each session.
