Federal Pell Grant

You must be eligible for federal financial aid to receive a Pell Grant.

The Pell Grant:

  • Does not need to be repaid
  • Is based on financial need, as determined by results of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  • Is awarded to undergraduates who have not yet earned a bachelor’s or professional degree
  • Requires that you must have received either a high school diploma or General Educational Development certification
  • The maximum Pell Grant award for the 2024-25 year is $7,395. Your award amount depends on your financial need, your costs to attend school, your status as a full-time or part-time student, and your plans to attend school for a full academic year or less.
  • You can only receive a Pell Grant for up to a maximum of 12 semesters or the equivalent.
