Tip of the Week
Fear of the uncertain
Uncertainty is a common theme in higher education and financial aid, especially this month with anticipating ISIRs, preparing to package aid, and encouraging FAFSA completion, not to mention reflecting on what this week looked like four years ago at the beginning of the pandemic.
However, the chaos brought on by the FAFSA, as well as other changes and pressures on college campuses, has brought a new level of uncertainty to the entire higher education industry.
Everyone in higher education – students, professors, staff, and administrators – especially financial aid administrators – are dealing with incredible amounts of stress.
While we can’t ignore the chaos swirling around us, we also can’t control it. But what we can control is how we view our work. If we know that we are doing our best to do our jobs and to help students, it makes facing the uncertainty a little easier.
Of this, I am certain.
