For those financial aid professionals tracking some of the known technical issues with the processing of student FAFSA records, another couple of updates were added to the list this week.

The Department on May 22 added two alerts to the Technical FAQ and Known Issues Guide. The guide, which the Department says is “to gather and respond to frequently asked questions” about production ISIRs for the 2024-25 FAFSA year.

The two issues added this week include:

  • Values for ward of court and foster care are switched on production ISIRs. The Department said it is investigating this issue and any potential remediation.
  • SAI is blank on a small number of production ISIRs after reprocessing. The Department said the resolution of reprocessing and delivering affected ISIRs to school and state agency mailboxes is underway.

There are about seven other known issues listed in the guide that are either under investigation or a resolution is in progress.
