Schools will soon see additional Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) functionality for the 2025-26 award year.
The Department of Education announced that on June 29, 2025 additional COD System functionality will be implemented. The additional functionality will support the Campus-Based programs, along with the processing of Pell Grant, Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant, TEACH Grant, and Direct Loan awards.
As part of the implementation process, COD batch processing will be suspended from midnight to 11 a.m. (Eastern) on Sunday, June 29. Any record submissions during that time will be held and processed after 11 a.m. and users will not be able to submit or retrieve data or access the COD Reports area on the COD website.
The announcement highlighted some key system changes:
- Addition of 2026–27 Award Year Cycle for Campus-Based Programs – This will include all campus-based program forms and instructions. The 2026-27 application year (and 2024-25 reporting year) FISAP will be available to view and edit starting on August 1.
- Addition of 2024 Calendar Year to Campus-Based XML Common Record Schema Processing – The 2024 calendar year will be added for Federal Work-Study (FWS) wage reporting.
