2025-26 changes incorporated into FAFSA Simplification Training Topics Series

Financial aid professionals can kick off their 2025-26 planning and processing with some training offered by the Department of Education.

The Federal Student Aid Training Center recently announced that they have updated the FAFSA simplification Trending Topic Series with the 2025-26 changes.

Topics include:

  • FAFSA Form topics – Divorced or Separated Parents, Manual Tax Information, Family Size, Child Support, and Foreign Earned Income
  • Packaging topics – Negative SAI, Emergency Financial Assistance, Timeframe for Dependency Status Determinations, and Packaging Without Alternate SAIs
  • Title IV Aid Programs topics – Calculating Pell Grants, Pell Grant Enrollment Intensity, Pell Grants for Crossover Payment Periods, Foreign Income and Maximum Pell Grant Eligibility, Reporting FWS Earnings, and Campus Based Aid in COD
