
Financial aid professionals will soon see additional Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) functionality for the 2026-27 award year.
The Department of Education announced that on June 28, 2026 additional COD System functionality will be implemented. The additional functionality will support the Campus-Based programs, along with the processing of Pell Grant, TEACH Grant, and Direct Loan awards.
As part of the implementation process, COD batch processing will be suspended from midnight to 11 a.m. (Eastern) on Sunday, June 28. Any record submissions during that time will be held and processed after 11 a.m. and users will not be able to submit or retrieve data or access the COD Reports area on the COD website.
An attachment to the announcement outlines the COD system changes for the following:
- Changes Impacting the Direct Loan Program
- New and Revised Fields
- Changes to the Loan Limit Exceptions
- Changes to COD System Reports
- Changes Impacting the Campus-Based Programs
