Financial aid professionals have additional training resources available as they work with 2026-27 FAFSA data.

Federal Student Aid (FSA) recently released several Learning Tracks that will assist financial aid professionals as they receive and review 2026-27 FAFSA data.

The new Learning Tracks include:

  • The FAFSA Process: Review the steps students and contributors complete to file the FAFSA form and learn more about ISIRs.
  • Student Eligibility: Learn general Title IV student eligibility requirements, information on citizenship and eligibility for noncitizens, unusual enrollment history flags, and requirements for satisfactory academic progress policies.
  • Verification: Review the steps for verification including acceptable documentation, reporting verification of identity results, and resolving conflicting information.
  • Professional Judgment and Dependency Status Determinations: Learn about the allowed uses of both special and unusual circumstances as well as the process for determining a student’s dependency status.

To check out these learning opportunities, log into the FSA Training Center and select “Learning Tracks” and then “Aid Application Process.” Please note that the 2025–26 award year versions of these learning tracks will remain available through June 30, 2026.

Questions about the learning tracks or other training offerings can be directed to helpdesk.fsatraining@ed.gov.
