Schools wanting to submit batch corrections for 2024-25 and 2025-26 through the Electronic Data Exchange finally have good news.
An Electronic Announcement released by the Department of Education provides on update on the launch of batch institutional corrections for 2024-25 and 2025-26 cycles via the Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) starting at 12:01 p.m. (Eastern) on February 27. The files must be transmitted to the SAIG mailbox TGDE552 and any files transmitted prior to that time will not be processed.
Recent beta testing of batch corrections for both award years allowed the Department to ensure that batch files were correctly transmitted and included the proper corrections. The Department stated that they successfully processed 16 batch files containing corrections to over 200 records from both award years.
The announcement includes guidance and reminders for several scenarios that will help schools avoid unnecessary rejected ISIRs or incomplete corrections
Another known issue for 2024-25 and 2025-26 that the Department has been working on is the blank Student Aid Indexes (SAIs) appearing on non-rejected ISIRs due to missing data from the Federal Tax Information Module (FTIM). No action is required of schools to correct these records.
The last week of February, the Department started assigning Reject Code 68 and comment code 329 to these records, indicating no action needed, as the Department works to resolve the blank SAI.
The Department anticipates implementing a permanent fix and all impacted records will be reprocessed with the school then receiving new system-generated ISIRs with the FPS Correction Reason code set to “A,” which reflects the FTIM Result Update. The records will no longer have the Reject Code 68 and will have a calculated SAI.
