Tip of the Week
A hand up
Hardly anyone gets through college without help from someone else.
That help often comes in the form of money to pay for college. And if it’s not money from parents or other relatives, it’s often scholarships that help students persist and graduate from college.
There are a lot of scholarships available for students and doing an internet search can yield millions of results – so much that it can be overwhelming. There’s also no telling how many of those internet search results are scams or a waste of time.
To help students be successful in their scholarship search, Mapping Your Future created a “Ten Tips for Scholarship Success” flyer. The flyer includes a list of scholarship search engines and tips to avoid scams.
In addition to this flyer, Mapping Your Future offers a Scholarship Tracking Sheet to keep students organized and a “Winning Scholarship Strategies” flyer to help students effectively search and apply for scholarships.
We encourage you to use these flyers or distribute them to students, especially those who could use a little help paying for college.
