The Department of Education reminds schools not to lose access to critical systems.
In a recent Electronic Announcement, the Department reminds schools enrolled for a Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) account that they are required to review and validate its assigned TG/FT numbers and Electronic Services user accounts by December 10.
This includes access to the NSLDS Professional Access website, the COD website, and all FAFSA Partner Portal and EDconnect user accounts.
Schools failing to complete this process by December 10 will lose access to the FSA data systems such as ISIR deliveries and requests, FAFSA corrections, and NSLDS enrollment reporting and updates.
Reminders in the article include:
- Every organization must review the services associated with each of its SAIG mailboxes and user accounts and provide active confirmation that staff continue to require access to each listed service or system.
- Individuals who no longer need access or are no longer employed by the organization must be deleted.
- Third party servicers are also required to validate their organization’s SAIG mailboxes and accounts. If they fail to do so, client schools risk losing access to batch services. Schools are responsible for ensuring their third party servicer completes the process.
Detailed steps required to validate or delete SAIG mailboxes and electronic service users are included in the article.
