The scheduled release of the 2025-26 FAFSA is just a little more than two weeks away, but that’s time enough to do some things to get ready.

A couple of things that both students and parents can do is set up their StudentAid.gov accounts and gather up any documents that may be needed to complete the FAFSFA.

To help students and parents get ready for the FAFSA, Mapping Your Future has created a one page “Get Ready for the 2025-26 FAFSA” flyer, which can be displayed or distributed to your students and parents.

The flyer lists out the possible documents needed to complete the FAFSA. Although the new FAFSA pulls income information from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), tax return information may still be necessary to answer some questions or in those cases where the tax information cannot be retrieved from the IRS.

In addition, the flyer provides important tips about setting up a StudentAid.gov account.
