The 2025-26 FAFSA is now officially available, 10 days before the Department of Education’s December 1 goal.
The Department of Education made the announcement on November 21 that the online FAFSA form is available to all students and families at fafsa.gov. The Department is processing and sending FAFSA records to schools. The paper (PDF) form is also available to students.
The Department will monitor the 2025-26 FAFSA form and the Federal Student Aid Information Center (contact center) and make needed changes to improve the experience for everyone.
In addition, the Department has increased staffing by nearly 80% and has added more than 700 agents to the contact center. Students and families can utilize “FAFSA form-only” hours at the contact center, which includes evenings and weekends beginning November 22 and extending through March 2, 2025. English and Spanish speaking agents will be available to students and families, as well as interpretation services in additional languages.
“FAFSA form-only” hours will be available Monday-Friday until 10 p.m. (Eastern Time) and 12 am. to 5 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Saturdays. They are closed on Sundays and all federal holidays.
