Tip of the Week
Reminder of COD peak processing times
Delays in COD processing can be frustrating as you prepare to disburse aid, so you may want to make note of the peak processing times.
In a recent announcement, the Department of Education reminds schools that starting in January, processing for the 2024-25 award year will ramp up.
A few reminders to help with planning include:
- Mondays and Tuesdays are the heaviest processing days; thus, schools may want to send data later in the week.
- Origination and disbursement responses, generally sent within hours, may take longer. If batch processing takes longer than 24 hours, the FSA Partner and School Relations Center will contact the school.
- System-generated responses are processed once a day at 2:30 a.m. (ET) for activity that occurred the preceding day. The school will be contacted by the FSA Partner and School Relations Center if the processing will take longer than 24 hours.
- Actual disbursement records (Disbursement Release Indicator equals “True”) for all award types can be submitted up to seven calendar days in advance of the disbursement date.
Questions can be directed to the FSA Partner and School Relations Center at 1-800-848-0978 or by sending an email to CODSupport@ed.gov
