Schools can now begin reporting Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment (FVT/GE) data for the just-completed academic year.
In a recent Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education reminded schools that the data reporting for the 2025 cycle – which includes the 2024-25 award year – started on July 1 and runs through October 1, 2025.
Schools are required to report student and program information on an annual basis to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) via batch processing, online submission, or a spreadsheet submission process.
The Department offers several resources to aid schools in this process:
- Reports provided in Electronic Announcement GE-24-04
- NSLDS FVT/GE User Guide
- NSLDS FVT/GE Supplemental Training Resource
- Financial Value Transparency and Gainful Employment Information
In February, the Department announced that the deadline for the 2024 cycle for reporting and the evaluation of the Completers List had been extended until September 30, 2025. Following the deadline, the draft Completers List for the 2025 cycle will be generated. Schools will then have 60 days to make any corrections to their data in NSLDS following receipt of the list.
Schools are reminded that the submission of required data and the evaluation of Completers Lists are two separate processes, thus they do not need the final Completers list in order to complete the required reporting.
An attachment to the Electronic Announcement provides a summary of the years and students covered by the review for the 2025 reporting cycle.
