
New and experienced financial staff can usually benefit from additional training, especially training that incorporates hands-on activities.
Federal Student Aid (FSA) recently highlighted some Learning Tracks that will help financial aid professionals feel more confident in their Title IV skills.
Some of the suggested Learning Tracks include:
- Student Withdrawals Learning Track: Complete a Return to Title IV (R2T4) calculation for both credit-hour and clock-hour programs as well as a post-withdrawal disbursement example.
- FAFSA Process Learning Track: Learn which items to review on an Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) and investigate common C Flag scenarios and learn how to resolve them.
- Professional Judgment Learning Track: Review several special circumstances scenarios and consider questions to ask and applicable documentation to collect.
- Packaging Concepts Learning Track: Learn about the Student Aid Index (SAI) calculation and complete a “hand calculation” using the federal need analysis methodology.
- Awarding Pell Grant Learning Track: Review Pell Grant awarding examples and complete an activity to practice the calculations. Tracks are available for Formulas 1, 3, and 4.
To check out these learning opportunities, log into the FSA Training Center and select “Learning Tracks” from the black main menu bar and select the applicable track.
