Although funding amounts have not yet been determined, the Department of Education has posted tentative funding levels for 2026-27.
In a January 30 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education said tentative funding levels and worksheets for Federal Work-Study (FWS) and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) programs for the 2026-27 award year have been posted to the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) website.
As of January 30, the 2026-27 Campus-Based Programs appropriations had not yet been determined, so the Department based the funding amounts on the 2025-26 award year appropriations. Final award allocations may be delayed or revised depending on the outcome of the appropriations process.
To view the funding levels and corresponding worksheets, the Financial Aid Administrator needs to:
- Log in to the COD website and from the School tab
- Select “Campus-Based” from the left menu
- Select the “Self Service” option from the left menu
- Select “Notifications”
If the information on the worksheets is not correct or is inconsistent with the prior year funding levels, the school needs to notify the FSA Partner and School Relations Center at 1-800-848-0978 no later than February 20, 2026.
It was noted in the announcement that the 2026-27 Campus-Based awards will utilize 2024-25 Student Aid Index (SAI) in place of Expected Family Contribution (EFC) data for the first time, which may result in differences in a school’s need as assessed through the fair share funding formula. More information is provided in the 2026–27 SAI Procedures attachment in the announcement.
The announcement also addressed schools that provided data on the FISAP for students enrolled in additional locations that had not yet received eligibility determinations by October 1, 2025. If a school with new additional locations doesn’t receive an eligibility letter and Eligibility and Certification Approval Report by March 1, 2026, they must submit revised FISAP data no later than March 6. More information is provided in the announcement.
