Financial aid professionals can stay current with how to handle federal financial aid data with updated training modules now available.
Federal Student Aid recently announced that they have updated the “Aid Application Process” training track with the latest information and guidance that was published in the September 30 Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) GEN-25-08. This DCL included the latest information and updated guidance on the permitted access, disclosure, and use of Federal Tax Information (FTI), FAFSA data, and non-FAFSA data.
For individuals who have taken the training earlier, it is recommended to work through the updated courses. For those who have never taken the training, the training is an opportunity to become familiar with the requirements.
To enroll in the training:
- Go to fsatraining.ed.gov
- Select “Learning Tracks”
- Select “Aid Application Process”
- Locate the track about “FTI and FAFSA Data”
Questions about these learning tracks or other training needs, send an email to helpdesk.fsatraining@ed.gov.
