Real-time FAFSA fraud detection webinar announced

Financial aid professionals can learn more about the new real-time FAFSA fraud detection in an upcoming webinar.

In an April 15 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education announced a live webinar on Friday, May 1 from 1-2 p.m. (Eastern) that will explain the new process and allow participants to ask questions during the webinar via the chat feature. 

Registration is not required for the webinars as participation will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 5,000 attendees.

Details about the webinar, including a Zoom link, are included in the announcement. 

A webinar recording and transcript will be posted on the FSA Training Center the week following the live webinar and can be accessed by:

  • Logging into the FSA Training Center at fsatraining.ed.gov
  • Going to “Recorded Webinars and Training” on the main menu bar
  • Selecting “Webinars and Training Videos”
  • Locating the recording and transcript in the “Application Process and Student Eligibility” category
