The clock is ticking for financial aid professionals to complete award-year specific training courses on the FSA Training Center.

On July 2, the FSA Training Center will remove training courses specific to the 2025-26 award year and replace them with the 2026-27 award year courses on July 3.

The FSA Training Center includes many online courses that are award-year specific. According to the FSA announcement, these courses allow users to maintain a current understanding of the topics. The “Your Record of Learning and Certificates of Completion” demonstrate the completion of the training each award year.

Participants in two of the basic fundamental training courses have some options available to them.

FSA Basic Training for New Staff or any of the Learning tracks

  • Work must be finished by July 2.
  • Participants can also choose not to complete the 2025-26 training and wait for the release of the 2026-27 training.

FSA Fundamentals Training Series

  • Participants can complete the 2025–26 FSA Fundamentals Online course by July 2 and will be allowed to enroll in a 2026–27 FSA Fundamentals Virtual Workshop in the upcoming cycle with the completion of the previous year’s online course. More information will be announced after July 1.
  •  Participants unable to complete the 2025-26 online course by July 2 can stop working on it and wait for July 3 to start the newly released 2026-27 FSA Fundamentals Online course. The FSA Training Center cannot carry over completion progress from one year’s course to another.

Questions about training needs and the completion of courses should be directed to helpdesk.fsatraining@ed.gov.
