In addition to verifying students for financial aid, schools must take action to verify that the appropriate staff have access to federal systems.
In a recent Electronic Announcement, the Department reminds schools to verify user access for Federal Student Aid (FSA) systems and Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) mailboxes by December 31. This includes access to the NSLDS Professional Access website, the COD website, and all FAFSA Partner Portal and EDconnect user accounts.
Schools failing to complete this process by December 31 will lose access to the FSA data systems such as ISIR deliveries and requests, FAFSA corrections, and NSLDS enrollment reporting and updates.
The required validation steps are performed in FSA Partner Connect, which provides a modernized and streamlined approach for active confirmation. Detailed steps required to validate or delete SAIG mailboxes and electronic service users are included in the article.
A new feature includes the “New Bulk Validate/Remove Option” which allows administrators to select multiple users at once to validate or remove access in bulk. Administrators should carefully review user access needs when using this option.
Included in the announcement is the Active Confirmation for Administrators Job Aid to assist administrators in completing the process.
Questions about the process can be directed to the FSA Partner and School Relations Center at 1-800-848-0978 or by submitting a question using the Customer Support form in the FSA Partner Connect Help Center.
