
Hopefully, your holiday “to do” list doesn’t include working on Christmas or New Year’s day, but if you need to, be aware that some Federal Student Aid offices are taking a break or will have modified hours.
Federal Student Aid (FSA) announced that their federal offices and Federal Student Aid processors and contact centers will be closed on Thursday, December 25 in observance of Christmas Day and on Thursday, January 1 in observance of New Year’s Day. Also, the federal government will be closed on Wednesday, December 24 and Friday, December 26. All FSA websites will be operational on the holidays.
Early Closures on Wednesday, December 24, 2025
- FSA Partner and School Relations Center (COD, FSA Partner Connect, and NSLDS) will close at 3 p.m. Eastern Time (ET).
- Borrower Defense Hotline, Default Resolution Group, federal loan servicers, Federal Student Aid Information Center (FSAIC), FPS Help Desk, and FSA Ombudsman Group will close at 5 p.m. (ET).
Early Closures on Wednesday, December 31, 2025
- FSA Partner and School Relations Center (COD, FSA Partner Connect, and NSLDS) will close at 3 p.m. (ET).

The FAFSA Processing System (FPS) will accept data on December 25 and January 1 but will not process data or send ISIRS until December 26 and January 2.
The Common Origination and Disbursement System (COD) will accept and process data from schools and will send responses/acknowledgments on December 25 and January 1; however, schools will not receive federal funds on those days. Any requests for changes in funding levels and funds will be processed on December 26 and January 2.
Mapping Your Future staff will be taking a break for the Christmas holiday on Wednesday, December 24 and Thursday, December 25 and for the New Year’s holiday on Wednesday, December 31 and Thursday, January 1.
