Financial aid administrators working with non-citizens will want to check out the latest instructions for accessing the information needed to determine if a student is eligible for federal financial aid.
In an August 20 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education announced that they have updated the guide to access Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) system. The DHS-Save Instructions for School Users guide now provides instructions related to the transition to Login.gov for system access.
Schools can go to the DHS-SAVE, Eligible Noncitizen page to locate all Electronic Announcements; DHS-SAVE system instructional documents; and other information related to eligible noncitizen issues.
The guide was included as an attachment to the Electronic Announcement.
Questions should be directed to applicationsystemsdivision@ed.gov.
