With the latest EDExpress release, users should notice improvements with installation and with the functionality of the software,
EDExpress users now have access to the EDExpress for Windows 2027-28, Release 1.0 software, which introduces a new database format and includes changes implemented during the 2027-28 FAFSA beta testing.
In a recent Electronic Announcement, Federal Student Aid announced the availability of EDExpress for Windows 2027-28, Release 1.0, which is available in the Software and Other Tools area of the Knowledge Center website.
Features and functionality included in this release are Global, Application Processing, Packaging, and College Financing Plan functionality for the 2027–28 cycle.
The new database format uses Microsoft’s SQL Server and upgrades the software to a 64-bit application which improves reliability, performance, and security and provides stronger support for multiple users.
