You will want to make note that the federal government offices will be closed on January 9 for a National Day of Mourning and some processing may be impacted.
In a recent Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education announced that their federal offices will be closed to observe the day of mourning in honor of James Earl Carter, Jr, the thirty-ninth President of the United States.
The impacts to processing include:
- FAFSA Processing System (FPS) – FPS will accept data on January 9 but will not process data or send 2024-25 or 2025-26 ISIR records until January 10.
- COD System – COD will accept and process data and send back responses/acknowledgments on January 9, but schools will not be able to receive any federal funds that day. Any requests for changes in funding levels and for funds will be processed on January 10.
- Websites – All FSA websites will be operational.
