A seven-month extension on required reporting could be a welcome relief for some schools.
In a recent Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education announced the extension of the deadline for evaluating the Completers List and reporting Financial Value Transparency (FVT) and Gainful Employment (GE) data until September 30, 2025.
The extension is to give additional time to schools:
- that were unable to complete the reporting by February 18, 2025; and
- that would like to make corrections to previously submitted data.
While many schools have submitted their FVT/GE data, some schools have struggled to meet deadlines and submit reliable and accurate data amidst technical and operational complexities, while others reported delays in software development.
Due to the various issues some schools face, the Department does not plan to release any FVT/GE metrics before the September 30 deadline and will not penalize schools who have not been able to complete reporting.
The Department continues to address outstanding issues, concerns, and questions from schools and anticipates that this will be the final extension of the reporting deadline.
Due to the deadline extension, on February 17 the Completers Lists will revert to draft status in NSLDS. Schools can access the list on the NSLDS Professional Access by requesting the ad hoc report, FVT and GE Completers List Report (GEFVC1). The report will then be sent to the SAIG TG mailbox of the requesting user and can be downloaded in Excel format.
The NSLDS FVT/GE User Guide (Volume 3, Chapter 5) provides more information about the Completers List Report.
