College application season has arrived, and this critical first step doesn’t need to be stressful.

ACT is kicking off their American College Application Campaign (ACAC) to let students know why they should apply for college and to ease their fears or doubts about the process.

On Friday, September 19, ACAC is asking schools and individuals to utilize their social media accounts to share supportive and motivating messages as to why students should apply to college and/or why you applied to college, by using the hashtag #WhyApply.

Schools and individuals can participate by:

  1. Printing a #WhyApply selfie printout or using a blank piece of paper with the hashtag on it.
  2. Writing your response to the question “Why apply to college?” on it.
  3. Putting on your college gear and taking a photo with your #WhyApply statement.
  4. Posting your photo or statement to your personal or organization’s social media channels using the hashtag #WhyApply and tag ACAC on September 19.

If time is an issue, you can keep it simple by drawing a picture or updating their status. If you’re feeling more creative, create a brief video.

High schools can also register to host a college application completion event.
