The Department of Education is among the federal offices closed for the Labor Day federal holiday on Monday, September 2.
The August 19 announcement states that the Federal Student Aid (FSA) processors and contact centers will be closed on September 2. All FSA websites will be operational on the holiday.
The following additional information was provided in the announcement:
CPS and FPS – The Central Processing System and FAFSA Processing System will accept 2023-24 and 2024-25 data on Monday, September 2, but will not process data or send 2023-24 and 2024-25 ISIRs until Tuesday, September 3.
COD System – COD will accept and process data and send back responses/acknowledgements on Monday, September 2. Schools will not, however, be able to receive any federal funds on September 2. Any requests for changes in funding levels and for funds will not be processed until Tuesday, September 3.
