Financial aid professionals have many critical responsibilities, but perhaps one of the most important is completing the FISAP (fiscal reports and application to participate in federal financial aid).

It’s not an easy task, but those responsible for it can prepare by completing an online, self-paced training course.

Federal Student Aid (FSA) announced that the 2026-27 FISAP course is now available on the FSA Training Center to assist with completing the FISAP for 2024-25 and Application to Participate for 2026-27. The FISAP, available on the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) website, must be submitted by October 1, 2025.

The training covers the sections of the FISAP and commonly made errors when completing the form. Financial aid and business office staff who are responsible for the FISAP, as well as anyone new to the form, are encouraged to view the online course.

To access the training:

  • Log in to the FSA Training Center with your username and password
  • Select “Systems Training” from the main menu
  • Choose “FISAP Submissions in COD” from the drop-down menu
  • Select “Start Here” to launch the course

Anyone without a username and password for the FSA Training Center, should choose “Create new account” (at the bottom of the log-in page) and follow the instructions.

Questions about the FISAP Training course can be directed to helpdesk.fsatraining@ed.gov.
