Borrowers seeking Public Service Loan Forgiveness should check their StudentAid.gov accounts in the next few months to determine their progress toward that goal.

In a July 3, 2024, update to an April 2024 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education said borrowers can expect to see updated payment counts during the summer and fall.

The updated payment counts are a result of the payment count adjustments, which according to the Department more accurately reflect a borrower’s payment counts. Payment counts are also updated when a borrower certifies employment.

According to the Department, the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program has now transitioned to the StudentAid.gov website and the processing of PSLF forms has resumed.

The processing of TEACH Grant forms will resume sometime during fall 2024.
